They function as the ambulance service for the City of Fort Wayne, providing both 911 emergency services and non-emergency ambulance services to residents. Unlike a private for-profit entity, they operate as a not-for-profit unit of local government. Established in 1983 through a local ordinance approved by the Fort Wayne City Council, they serve as a governmental "authority" under Indiana law. Their primary responsibility is to oversee and provide advanced life support (ALS) ambulance services to the community's residents and visitors. The Commissioners of Allen County officially designated TRAA as the county's ALS service by adopting an interlocal cooperative agreement.
I twice had to call when my elderly father fell.. I could not lift him on my own. My Father refused to go to the hospital. The EMTs were patient and caring. They expressed their concerns for his safety as well as mine.

The service I received was Amazing! The EMT (Todd) who helped me went above/beyond providing caring/compassionate care. I was quite I'll, dealing with several issues that eventually led to me being hospitalized, Todd helped getting me calm (slowing my breathing) & started my IV with only 1poke. I didn't want him to leave me, I called TRAA to tell his supervisor & to Thank him once again! Humbly & Gratefully Submitted, Linda Hines

Solid EMT's and Medic's. Wish they could keep the great people that they have/had, but the people of Ft Wayne havent been able to grasp the concept of what is actually an emergency. Or if you are able to drive yourself then you really don't need an ambulance. Take the person that said something like, "they charged me $1400 and they didn't even do anything." Well guy, they should've charged you 10×'s that amount for abusing the 911 system.

I cannot say enough about how wonderful Aaron and his partner were in dealing with my husband who did not want to go to the hospital. They were calm, kind, firm and insisted they could not leave him at home because of the danger he was in health wise! Kudos to your team!

I have utilized 3RAA services multiple times since 2005. The following are my experiences: The Paramedics at 3RAA are professional, curteous, compassionate, and very knowledgable. Randy Auker, the Director of Operations, is stellar in client communication, and proficient in assuring Paramedic staff operates smoothly. The Executive Director, Gary Booher, provides his exceptional expertise to the daily operations of the agency. All Support Staff Associates of the agency are outstanding in their respective roles as well. 3RAA has earned my highest recommendation.
