This is a wonderful community hospital. Over 15 years of experience here through all kinds of family health needs have taught us how lucky we are to have such high quality care close by. From emergency room visits to routine diagnostic imaging, short or long term stays, nursing care and doctor's office appointments, this place is so reassuring. We love it, even when we would prefer not to be there.

I wanted to let everyone know about our experience with Midcoast hospital. Personally I’ve had numerous surgeries there over the years, and my wife today had surgery. And I can honestly say that the staff and medical team are great!!!!! Very happy with the care we received. A+

I can not stress enough how pleasant, knowledgeable, and helpful the staff, nurses, PAs, doctors are. Even though everyone is especially busy, they always have a smile on their face and patiently explain what is happening sometimes over and over. I can't say enough about how much I appreciate each and every team of people.

I could not have asked for a better hospital experience. I literally cried as I was leaving because of how caring everyone was. — Dr Leighton came and checked on me all three days which was so comforting to know that she cared so much about her job and making sure her patients are well cared for. Every single nurse was extremely knowledgeable and answered all my questions and helped me around the clock. I never felt like I was bothering anyone and everyone’s attitude was loving, caring, and patient. If I ever need to go back, I know I am going to be in GREAT hands!

Great staff. I have always been admitted in a timely manner. They always figured out what was wrong with me. I gave birth to my son here and I also stayed here with my preemie daughter when she was born and we had to be transferred from Portland to here. This place is SO much better than Portland. Excellent service and fast waiting time.
I brought my 90 year old mother here on Friday morning due to what I expected to be dehydration but eventually turned out to be a severely inflamed gallbladder. Yes, she was in a hallway bed, because there are only so many actual rooms in the ER and if they are full, I'd rather have her on a bed in the hallway than turned away or sent to another hospital. She was offered a privacy screen which we declined. Everyone she had contact with was caring and professional and the steps to diagnose and eventually treat were taken in a logical step.
