They offer services in Behavioral Health, Cancer Care, Diabetes Management, Emergency Services, Heart Health, Home Health, Hospice, etc. Originating in 1899 as an eight-room hospital in Fredericksburg, Virginia, they have since evolved into a non-profit regional system consisting of two hospitals (with a total of 571 beds), three emergency departments, and over 60 healthcare facilities and wellness services. The Board of Trustees, comprised of community leaders, volunteers their services to guide the organization. The mission is straightforward: Mary Washington Healthcare exists to enhance the health of the people in the communities they serve.
Operating as a non-profit corporation, they reinvest their profits into the organization. This includes activities such as upgrading technology, introducing new services, and hiring additional staff. The outcome is a continuous enhancement in the scope and quality of care provided to the community.
I realize one visit doesn't make for a good sample size, but I went there with my wife for a prostate biopsy last week and we were blown away by how pleasant, professional, and efficient everyone was. Everyone treated us as if we were the most important part of their day. We had never been there before, so people helping us get to where we needed to be was a blessing. I'm not sure when, but I'll probably have surgery at Mary Washington soon. I'll report back afterwar

I haven't had the best experiences here in the past but I was admitted last week for stomach pain. I checked in to the ER and literally within two minutes of sitting down, I was triaged and in a room. Dr Cheema saw me and was so kind. She ordered nausea and pain meds for me and all kinds of tests to figure out what was going on. I ended up being admitted for 3 days and having to have an endoscopy. Carly the ER nurse was amazing, the admitting doctor Dr Pickman was wonderful too. Everyone I encountered there was so nice and helpful. I don't have a bad thing to say. Thank you so much for taking such good care of me.

Was always treated with respect, listens to your concerns and needs, delivers 5-star service/performance. Never a bad experience. The ER is currently being rehabbed so they can get a bit backed up (as is with any ER, getting rehabbed or not). THEY SAVED MY LIFE TWICE IN URGENT UNEXPECTED/UNFORTUNATE CIRCUMSTANCES!!!

Some of these reviews make absolutely no sense to me. I was there to deliver my baby boy end of April beginning of May and it was the best experience. 10/10 and I would recommend it to anyone that asked. The head nurse Melissa was the best, very honest and upfront when i had any questions. Courtney (one of my nurses) was by far my favorite. She sat there and held me because of the pain I was in while I got epidural. Not only that but it was her first year there and you could not tell by any means. All of my nurses were so great and so helpful but those two stuck out the most. Dr. Bowler from Elite Womens delivered my baby I have had a few appointments with her during my pregnancy and she is wonderful. Lactation nurses were wonderful and the women in charge of the medicaid paperwork were all very helpful in every way possible. I know for a fact if i have more kids i will be going back.

I was admitted on May 4 2021 to MWH for severe sepsis. The doctors were good, but the nurses were fantastic! They answered all my questions and were so kind and helpful. This hospital literally saved my life!
