Flatlands Volunteer Ambulance

Private Care Center

Brooklyn, United States

(4)

Overview

A collaborative effort aims to provide our community with a high-quality ambulance service, free of charge to patients and their families. Responding to approximately 1,000 emergency calls annually, Flatlands grapples with an operating budget exceeding $200,000. Financial contributions are vital, and without the community's generous support, services could halt.

The investment of time is equally crucial, given the constant turnover of members due to relocation, job changes, or pursuing other interests. Replacing skilled individuals, especially trained EMTs, poses a challenge. They provide comprehensive EMT training. Since August 2004, operating as the first Advanced Life Support Volunteer Ambulance Corps in Brooklyn, they are actively seeking REMAC certified Paramedics to join and expand ALS shifts in Bergen Beach, Flatlands, Futurama, Georgetown, Marine Park, Mill Basin, and Mill Island.
