Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital

I walked into the emergency room on a Monday morning with chest and arms pain, I was checked in right away as they understood the situation of potentially Heart Attack and the nurses start working on my tests in minutes. And they were right, after the results came out couple of hours later I've got the unfortunate news that I had an heart attack and I was hospitalized for the next few days to have my heart checked for potential blocked coronary artery or something worse but to make my long story shorter I end up with a surgery the next day and a Stent in my heart. But I am writing this review to let everyone know about my experience with the Hospital staff, Doctors and Nurses who really took good care of me and for that I am very Grateful! Unfortunately I do not remember all the names of the Doctors , Nurses or their staff but I want to say Big Thank You to Dr. Lystash and all his staff, Dr. Kihel, Dr. Amato, Dr. Bezingi and his surgical team, Nurses: April, Andrew, Emily, Kasey and all the others I don't remember their names but they took good care of me from the time I was hospitalized to the time I was discharged. I come from the North and have never ever had medical care like I received at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital for open heart surgery. Even my RN son said that he has never been in a hospital that was as good as Carilion Roanoke. The level of care, compassion, and commitment to patient care is unmatched. Everything, and I mean everything, runs like a well-oiled machine. I truly cannot say enough good about the surgeons, staff, and care from this hospital. I am truly thankful to have been referred to this organization. You know how to do it right!

Got here at 10:30 PM, by 11:30 PM, we have already been checked in, evaluated by the nurse and two different doctors. The care we’ve received here has been above and beyond any we’ve had. And as a person who’s traveled the country for work with 6 children we’ve been to A LOT of hospitals. Carillon Memorial is now the best hospital we’ve been to! From check in, to nurses, to Doctors to even the patient representative, everyone has been AMAZING!

Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital is the best of best! Even starting at the the parking lot, the staff are so nice and humble, I found peace and no stress whatsoever. I recently had surgery there (after having to go to the E.R. twice there in the past, before I was given treatment that doctors in other hospitals didn't offer me) and things were great, the staff give high quality care to patients. I thank God for all the employees at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital, there is a tremendous connection between patients and the staff. I am so thankful to have had that experience.

I’ve shoulder surgery back in July. I have had probably close to 16 surgeries. The nurses have always treated me with respect except for 1 or 2 occasionally but over all my stay has been excellent. People tend to forget that they aren’t the only patient, they are over worked. The Dr’s and associates truly care about healing you. I definitely recommend.

Driving home from vacation my wife was driving and I passed out. We found the ER and was immediately taken care of. I’ve was there a few days within ICU and the staff made this scary experience easier for me and my wife. All so generous, compassionate, and attentive to not only my needs but also making sure my wife was okay. Every person was so kind. Cannot thank the cardio ICU unit enough for everything. I do not think I’d be here today without this amazing team.

Had a total hip replacement by Dr. Coobs on August 23. Every person on staff who dealt with me were fantastic! When I heard hip replacements were outpatient these days, I was a little apprehensive, but I had no reason to be. Everything has been fantastic so far and my new hip is feeling better every day! My mental health has been better being home with my family and support team. Thank you all so much!
