In 1984, Richard E. Morris, Jr., founded their organization in Gloucester as a locally owned and operated Ambulance Service. The organization was built upon the principles of providing exceptional customer service, a steadfast dedication to the community they serve, and the provision of compassionate patient care. Over the years, Beauport has undergone substantial expansion, positioning itself as a trailblazer in advancing emergency medical services throughout the North Shore. As of 2022, their operations are comprehensive and include managing a fleet of 18 ambulances, utilizing 3 specialized command and support vehicles designed for non-transport purposes, maintaining an extensive fleet of 24 chair cars, and employing a dedicated team of 130 healthcare professionals. Beauport operates a modern fleet with an average vehicle age of just three years, continually investing in equipment upgrades to ensure top-notch service. They also run a 24-hour Emergency Medical Dispatch Center, facilitating over 80,000 patient transports annually.
Moreover, Beauport serves as the primary Advanced Life Support (ALS) provider for the Town of Rockport and the Town of Essex, while also being the primary ambulance service for the Town of Hamilton and the primary backup service for the City of Gloucester. Their services encompass a broad spectrum, including Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Life Support (ALS), Chair Van/Bus Services, and the highest levels of training.
