Who is Pulmonologist?
A pulmonologist is a medical doctor who specializes in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of diseases and conditions that affect the respiratory system, including the lungs, bronchial tubes, and chest wall. They are also known as pulmonary disease specialists or respiratory disease specialists. Pulmonologists work with patients who have conditions such as asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), pneumonia, lung cancer, pulmonary fibrosis, and sleep disorders, among others. They use various diagnostic tools and treatments such as pulmonary function tests, chest X-rays, bronchoscopy, oxygen therapy, and medications to help manage and improve their patients' respiratory health.
