Medical Treatment:Spontaneous endophthalmitis
- Ceftriaxone, IV, 2 g seven days a day.
Vitrectomy is often required by the initiated specialist:
- Ceftazidime, intravitreal, 2,25 mg.
- Intravitreal vancomycin, 1 mg.
Use separate tuberculin syringes.
Furthermore, if soft tissue is involved or if prophylaxis occurs after an injury to the eye:
- Ciprofloxacin, oral, 12 hours 750 mg.
